Wednesday, 22 April 2015 - Reported by Marcus
A piano version of the Doctor Who theme has been released by the Russian pianist Sonya Belousova.

The award winning performer, born in Saint- Petersburg, is well known for her performances in the Cosplay Piano Series, released on YouTube.

In the tribute to Doctor Who she appears from the TARDIS to perform in a series of costumes based on the twelve Doctors.

The new video is directed by long term fan Tom Grey, who told Mashable
We made the decision to use costuming elements from all 12 Doctors, It was certainly a challenge to put together feminized versions of every Doctor costume, but luckily there is a great cosplay community that has been incredibly supportive of us.
The duo will also release a darker I Am The Doctor theme cover this year.

Election NewsBookmark and Share

Wednesday, 22 April 2015 - Reported by Marcus
Doctor Who has become an issue in the British General Election with the Independent reporting that the leader of the UK Independence party is calling on the BBC to stop making popular entertainment programming.

Nigel Farage told a public meeting in Rochester that the BBC should be "cut back to the bone". He said the licence fee should be cut to a third of its current value and the Corporation should be "purely a public service broadcaster with an international reach". Examples of public service broadcasting include local news coverage, arts programmes and religious broadcasts, but does not include programmes such as Doctor Who, Strictly Come Dancing, and Top Gear.

Meanwhile the Mirror, a Labour supporting paper, is reporting that Doctor Who is better under Labour governments. The paper reckons that episodes shown when the Conservatives are in power, score lower appreciation figures on IMDB than episodes shown when Labour are in charge.

The series was created in 1963 under a Conservative Government, and returned in 2005 under a Labour administration.
